The members of the GamingEdus have been busy with their regular, mortgage-paying day-job lives, but they can’t stay apart for long! Diana and Denise will reunite for some upcoming workshop opportunities.

1) On April 3, 2018, Denise and Diana will appear at the Beanfield Centre on the grounds of the CNE to talk about Games Based Learning. The synopsis of their talk is:

In this session we will examine the differences between Game Based Learning vs Gamification, will look at ways various games can be used alongside the curriculum to engage and enrich students experiences.  Throughout this session, we will share how we engage students in inquiry through playing, and unpack gaming experiences, along with how we have used these opportunities to promote global competencies.

Expect critical thinking, media literacy and equity education as well in this session as we consider representation in games and other issues.

2) Denise and Diana will return to the ETFO (Elementary Teachers Federation of Ontario) ICT Conference for Women June 1 and June 2. Their sessions are:

  • Game-Based Learning: Playing to Learn (Friday June 1)
  • Game Based Learning: Time to Play      (Saturday June 2)

They hope to see you there!
